This is the story of the memorable quest for the lost city of Frore, as it has been been passed to the skalds by Lord Guthwulf himself

Several stories spoke of the great hammer of frore and so I decided to visit the lost city of Frore and get this ancient artifact. The tale says one needs to seek three standing stones, beginning east in the Hills of the Bandit Castle and so, L'Oiseau, Malek, Narsia and myself went to the Bandit Castle far north of Arwic. Then we headed to the eastern Mountains and tried to find it. We ran across all those Hills but couldnt find that standing stone. We deceided to get a bit further away from the Castle and after some hours a good old friend arrived to help us in the search and more lucky than us, Haakon found the first standing stone within a short time. So we went there, only to see that we were not able to open the standing stone, because it was sealed and only the seal of a mighty Undead would open it.

One week later:
Finally, we managed to get hold of a lich seal and went to this first standing stone again and got a part of the letter. But it was useless without the other parts and accourding to rumors we went out in the northern lands to find the other two. This day we really proved that we are enduring, since we spent quite some hours to run through the wilderness. As I arrived at the second standing stone I was quite satisfied, thinking "oh well, 2 out of 3, soon we will be in Frore". Now, this was a wrong thought as we saw later on. I opened the stone ....and it was empty ! Somebody already took the letter, so i had to sit down and wait for the ancient magics to bring the letter back, having no idea how long this would take or how it would be done, I just sat there and waited, my beard grew longer, my feet got cold with all that snow around me but then I heard a strange noise inside the stone and I stood up to take a look and there it was. 'Amazing!' I thought and took the letter. Meanwhile my friends, L'Oiseau, Narsia and Krawak went out to find the third letter and now i made a grievious mistake (not the last one, just to mention). I sent them to the wrong place. No more words needed I think, we went to the right place then and late at night we got all three parts and put them together. But what was that ? I couldn't read those words, having no idea what the letter says. "We need a translator" somebody mentioned and so we tried the one in Hebian-to, but that one told us, he wasn't able to to it, his collegue in Zaikhal would be able to and he was. He also told us to give the letter, who contained some strange teleportation coordinates, unuseable for us, to a women in the city of plateau which could read it and open a portal to the location - to the lost city of frore.

One more week later:
In the early afternoon we gathered in the city of Qualabr to finally go to Frore. L'Oiseau, Narsia, Malek, Stefanie (a friend of Ois) and myself. So we went to the city of plateau and i thougt i could bring us near there with a portal and so i opened one and reaching the destination we realized that it wasn't even near the city. *Sigh* Wrong again. Well Stefanie offered to us, that she could reach the town quite fast, recalling to her lifestone and then meet us in Glenden Woods, so she went to the city of plateau and we headed to Glenden Woods. There we met our friend Krawak of Lowangen and were glad that there is another reliable man, standing at our side when we enter those cold, unfriendly city of frore. Soon later that evening we were in plateau and prepared ourselves for the battle. I handed over the letter and the women openend the portal. Then we were on a high small mountain and some ice golems were sending us their cold greetings, but we responsed them quite quickly.

Then we entered the portal that was there and found ourselfes in a small cave with some kind of strange altar. As we explored a bit there , we soon found that there was only one way to go - some long tunnel just going down. So we sent a small prayer to our gods and jumped down. Down there was a labyrinth and it was cold, we really felt the bite of it sometimes. Only the cold protection spells of Narsia bint Sarma saved us from getting hurt much. We ran along here and there for some time and were glad that we found an exit of that maze after some time. Not to mention that there were those Gelidites Acolytes, that lived in those caves but they couldn't stand against us in any way. Later on there was another maze, smaller one in my mind, but there also were locked doors, that would have stopped us, if not Malek of Zaibatsu would have been with us. His swift fingers used the lockpicks very skilled and opened all doors with locks very fast. Other doors even didnt have a lock and so we had to find a way to open it. Stefanie, beeing here for the second or third time i think, knew some of the secrets to open those doors and so we went on quite good. Again, sometimes the imense cold gave us a bite here and then and Narsia had to renew her protections spells often. Also didnt there only life Acolytes but Gelidite Lords, so we knew we were getting closer but as we found another portal, that led to the lost city of frore, we realized, this all was only the beginning. Then we entered the ancient town and it was crafted fine and blue lights were shining everywhere, but the Gelidites were not too happy about us in their city and soon we had to fight our way thru them and their ice golems. And again locked doors stopped us from going on, and for quite some time we couldn't go on, but there were those strange little stones in the middle of the hall. I thought, what the hell are those here for and jumped on one of them, then on another. And that way i could reach the top of one of the rooms and then jump over to a little bridge and found a lever. Pulling it the door openend and we went on, beeing happy myself to open at least one of the locked doors. Stefanie led our way to the halls, where once the great work took residence and several Gelidite Lords awaited us there and some fragments and then, we saw it.

A little chest standing there, icy blue light shining on it and malek tried to check the lock on it, just to recognize he wasn't able to open it. Then i rememberd, that the girl who sent us to here gave me a key and i used it on the lock and the key smoothly went into the lock and after a faint sound it was open and my eyes grow bigger as i saw all the weapons and armors inside of it. In quite a hurry i took everything out of it and after a last look around in those ancient halls we left the place, beeing happy we managed to do it.

After all of this i say thanks to everybody who helped with this quest and stood at our sides, gathered informations and hints, i wouldn't have been able to do it without you. Thank you all.

Guthwulf,
Warlord of the Hammers
