It was Kvalin who united all of the northmen under the banner of the Storm Seekers and issued the first Writ, the holy book of the Order. In centuries of questing and crusading the Order has been subjected to quite a few transformations and kept changing til it reached its current, modern form. The most notable of those changes were under the Lords Fenrir Wyrmbane, founder of the Hammers, Skarl the Grey, founder of the Grail Keepers and later known as the first lord usurper, the only Order Lord to have his name deleted from all the Writ pages...and, last but not least, Arghail Firebeard, the Second Lord Founder, the one who updated the Writ and the Order Serment to its modern form.

Arghail had a blessed vision, in which he recognized what the true message of the Great Wolf to his people had been. He realized that the Search itself was serving its own purpose..that through discovery, exploration and quest the original tribe had evolved and grown...that the relentless pursuit of "the storms" had driven them to and beyond the edges of their personal limitations, that it had made them all better men and women
